Mother’s day can often conjure images of sad petrol station flowers with a hastily torn off price sticker. We’ve curated a gift guide that only includes brands and gifts that we ourselves would be touched and thrilled to receive.

For the chefs we have:
Forge Creative Wooden Chopping Boards
Forge Creative are a small team of incredibly skilled woodworkers, based in Sussex. Their chopping boards are a kitchen staple - at a glance they’re too beautiful to use, but they hold up better than any other board I’ve had. I discovered Forge Creative after becoming increasingly worried about how much plastic I was accidentally consuming by using regular plastic chopping boards, or even wooden boards coated in glues, but the sustainable method the team use make these a great solution.
Anna Jones’ The Modern Cooks Year
Anna’s approach to cooking is just what you want - flavour is central and you find yourself making nourishing and satisfying dishes. This book is organised to help you cook seasonally, with recipes and instructions that will elevate your meals. The blackberry drop scones, and Sri Lankan green bean and tomato curry are among my favourites!
Clod & Pebble
You wouldn’t think a rolling pin could engender excitement – but Chris, based in Ayrshire, makes the most beautiful pins that could just as easily be works of art (he also makes fantastic ceramics!). These make the list because they’re just so well made – the perfect combination of functional and attractive.

For the ceramics lover
Dante’s Ceramics
Ceramicist, Issy Taylor-Jones hand throws a varied range of beautiful ceramics in her studio in Essex. They’re not showy or loud, rather the quality does the talking, and it’s something you can feel in this mug which is slightly heavier, and satisfyingly more tactile than it’s mass-produced counterparts.

For the chocolate lover
Pump Street
This is chocolate done the right way; it’s special and cares wholeheartedly about the process. Created by father and daughter Chris and Joanna – they’ve used their baking experience to create a unique and innovative range, including my favourite bars: croissant, and rye crumb.

For the skincare lover
Skin Rocks
I could not pick a favourite from this range, that’s how good it is. Founder, Caroline Hirons, knows what she’s taking about – after all she has been writing blogs and educating us over Instagram lives for years now. Her experience and obsession with quality shows with these products, as the team invest heavily in clinical trials to deliver and outstanding range. I truly thought skincare didn’t really work until I tried the Antioxidant.

For the outdoor lover
National Trust
Sometimes a gift just doesn’t hit the spot the way spending quality time together does. The National Trust is such a lovely way to enjoy and experience English history, architecture and nature - and must always be followed by a trip to the café! With sites all over the country, there’s bound to be the perfect trip close by.
For the candle lover
The Merchant’s Table
Susanna, who runs The Merchant’s Table, has such an eye for interior design and curates a range of truly considered craft objects, working only with independent makers. It’s here that I always buy the beeswax candles, they smell fantastic and are the perfect addition to your mantelpiece or dining table.

For the stationary lover
Cambridge Imprint
This isn’t a mass produced notebook, it’s a celebration of art and process. The team use hand-stencilled screen printing for their designs, which is why you get such fantastic colours. Like the other artisans I’ve mentioned, Cambridge Imprint have many products to choose from, but a hardback notebook is so handy, and this one is brings a lot of joy to your daily life.

For the wine (alc & non-alc) lover
Ferm Living
Ferm Living’s range of Ripple glassware has become really popular, and these wine glasses suit special occasions just as well as relaxed mid-week dinners when you fancy elevating your meal.
